Food Safety and Quality Assurance

food safety

At Hendrick AgriFoods we only source the best quality soybeans from the best quality soybean growers. Stringent quality control processes are in place at all stages from the seed, the grower, handling and transportation, processing and shipping. Hendrick AgriFoods is certified by the Canadian Grain Commission as an exporting company that meets ISO standards for Canadian IP soybean quality management practices.

Traceability and Identity Preservation

Non GMO Food-grade soybeans that have specific physical and chemical characteristics desired by customers, command a premium price in the international markets. To ensure these quality standards; producers, processors, exporters and distributors preserve their identity by keeping these beans distinctly separate at every handling process. At any time from breeder's seed plots, grower's fields, processing plants, storage bins, transport containers, and wholesalers and retailers stores, the identity of these beans could be tracked. The Identity Preservation (IP) tag ensures consumers the value and quality of their food.

Our system maintains the integrity, identity and purity of all pedigreed seed delivered to and stored at our facilities. System practices are documented in our Assured Grain & Traceability Growers' Manual, which describes practices and systems, based on the principles of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and follows the Quality Management System guidelines described in the ISO 9000:2000 Standard (International Organization for Standardization). This manual provides the basis for all risk management practices that are followed by Hendrick AgriFoods and contracted growers and processors; and as such allows the company to provide consumer assurance for food safety and quality. Our Assured Grain & Traceability Growers' Manual identifies potential hazards that can occur in the conduct any generic Canadian grain operation, areas in grain production and handling where hazards or risks can best be managed, grain production and handling practices necessary to control these risks including corrective actions to be taken when practices are not effective and the documents suggested for capturing the necessary data and ensuring traceability.

Our system maintains the integrity, identity and purity of all pedigreed seed delivered to and stored at our facilities. We recruit the finest growers who use and adhere to standards and protocols for Identity Preservation, to insure a safe and integral food supply system. The Canadian Identity Preserved Recognition System program ensures we meet market demands for specific grains, oilseeds and pulse products. It provides process verification of grain industry identity preserved programs through third party audits of programs against the Canadian Grain Commission. We participate annually in third party audits. IP documentation provides us with resources for continued improvement analysis.
